TikTok comes to the rescue of the author as she is the ghost in the book event

It was small AUTHOR who could

When Californian author Agnes Lee was left feeling down after no one showed up to her book signing event, TikTok set out to give her story a better ending. A distraught bookstore employee described this “Little Match Girl” literary saga in a video with over 9.4 million views on TikTok.

The chilling clip, shared by user @kawaiifilly, shows the solemn scribe glancing fondly around an undisclosed Barnes & Noble bookstore, seemingly devastated that no one came near her signing of her seminal children’s book, Who Took My Stuff”.

“I literally hate this change,” the friendly bookstore employee wrote in the caption. “It is her first book and no one has approached her. I have to watch this for five hours. My heart is breaking.”

That’s when the digital winds of fortune shifted in her favor. Kawaii tagged Lee in the viral video, inspiring sympathetic TikTok users to rally around the oppressed author.

“Agnes Lee the internet supports you and now to find this book or can we contact her for an autograph?” said a sympathizer.

Another commissioner wrote: “I just ordered her book.”

This outpouring of support led others to hail the power of social media. “I love when TikTok comes together to support people,” said one supporter.

A fellow writer shared a similar experience of being a ghost at an autograph event, stating, “That was me exactly seven years ago.

“I became a number one New York Times bestseller this year, and book signings look very different now. Stick with it! Your people are waiting to find you.”

However, some skeptics claimed that this tear-jerking video was nothing more than a promotional stunt. “This marketing! Clever though,” claimed one commenter. “They probably filmed this before it started.”

However, online moral support was more than just performative; it is said to have helped Lee to keep writing.

“I just want to say thank you for your kind words and support,” the grateful Californian said in a follow-up video. “You have no idea how much it means to me because I was just about to leave it last night.”

She added, “The lessons you’ve taught me is to not give up and try to be the best when I have a passion.”

In response to popular demand, Lee said he will hold another book signing this Saturday at the Inland Empire in Corona, California.

Here’s hoping more people show up for it.
