‘Uber Eats roulette’ turns food delivery into a wild viral game: ‘I’d have anxiety’

This food trend hit the jackpot.

A new viral game has landed on TikTok — but the grub that comes out of it is a gamble for everyone involved.

Groups of friends have been playing “Uber Eats Roulette,” with each person ordering a certain dollar’s worth of food and not telling anyone what they ordered until it arrived.

The trick to the game is that, because no one knows what other people ordered, there is the possibility of a repeat order from the same restaurant.

“Everyone spends $30 to $40 and orders enough food for two to three people. We all order at the same time and put our phones down. We do not discuss or disclose what we order. Can we finish with eight pizzas? Of course, we can. But that’s part of the fun,” one user explained.

In a 5.1 million-view viral video posted by singer Lily Rose, she and four friends each ordered $30 worth of food and anxiously awaited the deluge of deliveries.

They ended up with Taco Bell, Chinese food, Mexican food, chicken wings and tacos.

“This is the kind of potluck I want to attend,” one person commented.

“My stomach would be in an absolute mess!!” another funny one.

“I would have anxiety with all the delivery drivers getting there at the same time,” added someone else.

Another group of friends racked up 4.2 million views on their viral video, in which two of them were picked up by the same delivery driver, leaving everyone wondering if they ordered from the same restaurant.

Even with the same driver, their orders were from different countries and were not repeated. The group ended up with 42 pieces of chicken from Chick-fil-A, two types of one-to-order pasta, chicken curry, gluten-free tacos, pizza and wings, and the Friendsgiving Special from KFC, as well as an assortment of desserts from Outback Steakhouse.

“But how did you get such a large variety?! That worked perfectly,” marveled one viewer.

A group of friends argued that the trend was perfect for a “girls night out” – prompting one user to reply that it was indeed a “girls dinner”.

But many people in the video comments pointed out that $30 on Uber Eats doesn’t go very far.

“$30 including fees or before fees and tip?” someone asked.

“Uber Eats $30 worth of food is a thing,” one said.

“This trend is so pointless. I’m sorry, but Uber Eats is so overpriced, you get, like, two small items for $40 plus tip. That’s like real good restaurant money spent on garbage pickup,” one person quipped.
